Regimental Ties
There is a lot said about steering clear of British regimental striped ties, if you didn’t serve in the regiment. I don't see the problem with wearing one - and I am British. Most of the old historic British regimens have been disbanded or amalgamated, since the Second World War. Just choose a regiment that has long since gone and you won't offend anyone. If you are British, you could wear a regimental tie of one of your forefathers. If you are really still worried, then just wear a reversed striped Brooks Brothers Repp tie - problem solved.
